Omugwo,
with a midwife.

When a baby arrives, a mother or mother-in-law traditionally moves in to carry the baby, keep the house going and make sure the new mum rests. That's Omugwo. Udoula keeps all of that warmth, and adds the clinical skill most families don't have at home.

What family brings

  • Warmth and patience
  • Someone who has done this before
  • An extra pair of hands
  • Permission to rest

What a midwife brings

  • Recovery and wound checks
  • Newborn checks and weight
  • Feeding and latch support
  • Knowing when something isn't right
udoulaBoth, at home

Held, from the first day home.

A managed care team, not a list of numbers to call. We plan your care, send the right people and stay responsible for the whole experience.

Start your care plan
  1. 01

Tell us before the baby comes

Sign up yourself, or through your hospital. We learn about your pregnancy, your home and what you need, then build your personal care plan.

  2. 02

    Your midwife comes to you

A trained nurse or midwife visits on the schedule in your plan: your recovery, your baby, feeding, bathing, and how you're really feeling.

  3. 03

    We're a message away

Between visits, your care team is on WhatsApp for questions, photos and follow-ups. No question is too small.

  4. 04

If something isn't right, we act

When you or your baby need more than routine postpartum care, we arrange a referral to the right professional or partner hospital.

  5. 05

    You finish strong

At the end of your plan you get a recovery summary, recommendations and guidance for the months ahead.

The first six weeks, held.

How often we visit depends on your plan and your needs.

Day0

Home from hospital

Your care plan is ready before you leave the ward, so you know who is coming and when.

Day1

The first visit

Your midwife checks your recovery, your baby, and how you're really doing. Then she listens.

Day3

The milk comes in

Feeding often gets real around now. She stays for a feed and helps with the latch.

Day5

Stitches and sleep

Wound and blood pressure checks, and a plan for some actual rest.

Day10

Weighing in

Most babies are back to their birth weight by about two weeks. We weigh, track and reassure.

Week3

How are you, really?

An emotional wellbeing check. We ask properly, and we listen to the answer.

Week4

Finding a rhythm

Fewer questions, more confidence. Your care team is still a message away.

Day42

Care complete

A recovery summary, and a plan for what comes next for you and your baby.

Plan your six weeks

Even the 3am questions.

Between visits, send us anything: a photo, a worry, a question that feels too small to ask. Our assistant answers routine questions straight away, and your midwife sees every message.

The assistant helps with routine questions only. Clinical decisions are always made by qualified professionals. In an emergency, go to the nearest hospital straight away.

Udoula care teamAssistant and midwives

Is it normal that she wants to feed every hour tonight?

Udoula assistantVery common in the first weeks. It's called cluster feeding, and it often happens at night.

Udoula assistantKeep offering the breast, and keep water and a snack near you. I've added this to Ifeoma's notes for your 10am visit.

Udoula assistantIf she seems unwell, won't feed or has fewer wet diapers, message us straight away.

Okay. Thank you. Back to sleep (hopefully)

Later that morning

Ifeoma, midwifeMorning, Amaka. I saw your message. We'll look at feeding together at 10.

Rest is part of
the treatment.

Take one slow breath with the circle. In for four, out for six. You're doing better than you think.

For her, for them,
for everyone who cares.

For new mothers

Prices depend on your plan and how many visits you need. Tell us a little about you and we'll talk you through it.

Ask us anything.

Can't see your question? We answer on WhatsApp, like a friend would.

Ask on WhatsApp
When should I sign up?

Ideally before your due date. That gives us time to understand your needs and have a care plan ready for the day you get home. If your baby is already here, reach out anyway.

Who will visit me?

A trained nurse or midwife from the Udoula team. We recruit, train and supervise every nurse and midwife who visits. We also keep an eye on the quality of care and follow up if anything slips, because your care is our responsibility.

What happens if something is wrong?

If you or your baby need more than routine postpartum care, we arrange a referral to the right health professional or partner hospital. In an emergency, go to the nearest hospital straight away.

Can I book care for someone else?

Yes. You can book Udoula for a daughter, sister, wife or friend, including from abroad. Choose "Someone I love" when you register.

Is the assistant a doctor?

No. Our assistant answers routine questions and helps with education and coordination. Clinical decisions are always made by qualified professionals.

How much does it cost?

It depends on your plan and how many visits you need. Register your interest or message us on WhatsApp, and we'll talk you through the options.

Where do you operate?

Tell us where you'll be after the birth when you register, and we'll confirm whether our team can visit you.
